Lit & Luz Live Magazine Show: Repair/ Reparar

Experience the Live Magazine Show, Lit & Luz’s signature celebration. Each year, Lit & Luz supports the creation of new collaborative artworks between writers, visual artists, and musicians from Chicago and Mexico. The pieces are presented in both Spanish and English and include storytelling, music, poetry, video art, and extemporaneous performances that explore the relationship between languages, art forms, social issues, and cultures of the United States and Mexico through the theme “Repair/ Reparar". This year’s program includes opening remarks from Ambassador Reyna Torres Mendivil, Consul General of Mexico in Chicago, live music by Damon Locks, and the emcee stylings of Rocío Santos and Kamilah Foreman.
Please join us in the lobby after the program for a reception, along with a book signing courtesy of Pilsen Community Books.

Vive el Live Magazine Show, la característica celebración de Lit & Luz. Cada año, Lit & Luz apoya la creación de nuevas obras de arte colaborativas entre escritores, artistas visuales y músicos de Chicago y México. Las piezas son presentadas en inglés y español e incluyen narrativa, música, poesía, videoarte y performances extemporáneos que exploran la relación entre idiomas, formas de arte, problemas sociales y las culturas de Estados Unidos y México a través del tema “Repair/ Reparar". En el programa de este año contaremos con las palabras de apertura de la embajadora Reyna Torres Mendivil, Cónsul General de México en Chicago, música en vivo de Damon Locks, y la gran presentadora Rocío Santos y Kamilah Foreman.
