Rubén Gutiérrez

Rubén Gutiérrez (Monterrey, Mexico, 1972) is a visual artist, writer, performer, and filmmaker whose work has been exhibited in Mexico and internationally since 1993. He has represented Mexico at major events such as the Rotterdam Film Festival, the Buenos Aires Biennial, and the Praga Biennial. He received the CIFO Emerging Artist Grant and is a fellow of the Mexican National System of Art Creators. His work is included in important public and private collections. As a curator, he has organized exhibitions and video programs worldwide. He directed the films Piérdete entre los muertos (2018) and Demasiado triste para ver películas (2025).

Rubén Gutiérrez (Monterrey, México, 1972) es un artista visual, escritor, intérprete y cineasta cuya obra se ha exhibido en México y en otros países desde 1993. Ha representado a México en importantes eventos como el Festival de Cine de Rotterdam, la Bienal de Buenos Aires y la Bienal de Praga. Fue acreedor de la Beca CIFO para Artistas Emergentes y es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte de México. Su obra forma parte de importantes colecciones públicas y privadas. Como curador ha organizado exposiciones y programas de video a nivel mundial. Fue director de las películas Piérdete entre los muertos (2018) y Demasiado triste para ver películas (2025).
