Whether you’re a longtime supporter of Chicago’s arts ecosystem or simply looking for a more meaningful way to experience Mexico City (CDMX), join Chicago Artists Coalition (CAC) and Lit & Luz Festival for a specially curated journey through Mexico City during Lit & Luz Festival CDMX 2027.

Travel alongside fellow arts supporters and culture lovers as we explore CDMX through intimate encounters with artists, private gallery visits, guided tours of historic sites, contemporary art collections, memorable meals, and exclusive experiences.

Throughout the journey, you’ll have opportunities to connect with artists, curators, and audiences in Mexico, meet fellow arts supporters from Chicago, and experience the city through an artistic and community-centered lens. All while you help sustain the work Lit & Luz and Chicago Artists Coalition do to support artists and foster cultural exchange and collaboration between creative communities.

Throughout the trip, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Experience Lit & Luz Live Magazine Show: cross-cultural experimentation between artists and writers on stage at Museo Universitario del Chopo. 

  • Meet artists and cultural practitioners through intimate visits, conversations, and special experiences. Explore contemporary art through select exhibitions, collections, galleries, and cultural spaces.

  • Experience Mexico City through a community lens, with programming curated around connection, history, and cultural exchange.

  • Connect with fellow Chicago arts supporters from across organizations and communities.

  • Invest in the arts communities that make both Chicago and Mexico City thrive: support local artists, creative businesses, restaurants, and cultural organizations in Mexico City.

  • Build unique relationships that can continue beyond the trip.

  • Support CAC and Lit & Luz to support artists and offer free and accessible programming in Chicago and beyond.

The experience includes:

  • Two meals per day for four days (lunches and dinners), including two dinners in some of the best restaurants in Mexico City

  • Four days of curated experiences 

  • Transportation from the hotel to all visits and events 

  • VIP seating at Live Magazine Show + private cocktail hour reception

  • A Cocktail party to connect with other Chicago arts supporters 

  • Artist studio visits and conversations

    Please note:

    Your airfare, hotel, not specified meals, personal expenses, and travel insurance are NOT INCLUDED. 

    The exact itinerary and participating artists, organizations, and venues will be announced as programming is confirmed. Some experiences may be subject to availability.

    Participants are responsible for ensuring they have a valid passport and any other documentation required for their individual circumstances.
