Lit & Luz Festival of Language, Literature, and Art

Lit & Luz Festival 2022 Chicago, Revision

Now in its ninth cycle, MAKE Literary Production’s Lit & Luz Festival of Language, Literature, and Art  continues to support the creation of new art through international collaboration, and make space for essential dialogues between residents of Mexico and the United States.

The 2022 festival is themed “Revision”—re-envisioning the arts in light of the pandemic, reconsidering the canon, and revising for the future.

This cultural festival runs October 31-November 5 with more than a dozen free, bilingual events taking place at venues throughout Chicago, as well as online. Programming partners include Chicago Art Department, Contratiempo/Co-Prosperity Sphere, and the Hideout.

The festival’s signature event, the Live Magazine Show, is co-presented on November 3rd with the University of Chicago’s Logan Center for the Arts. At this ticketed program, six pairs of Mexico- and Chicago-based participants debut multimedia collaborative pieces they have been working on the prior months.
