Andrea Reed-Leal

Andrea Reed-Leal is a PhD candidate in Latin American literature and culture at the University of Chicago. She is also a freelance translator, writer, and editor. Her research addresses the notion of tlaiximati, or embodied knowledge, and the preservation of Nahua women's knowledge in 16th-century visual and textual documents. Other recent projects include Material Entanglements (Pitzilein, 2025), Ceramics for Chocolate (2024), and the edited anthologies Inhabiting the Library (Biblioteca Revelaciones, 2023) and The River We Do Not See: Chronicles of Tizapán (ITAM, 2017).

Andrea Reed-Leal es candidata a doctora en literatura y cultura latinoamericana por la Universidad de Chicago. También es traductora, escritora y editora independiente. Su investigación aborda la noción de tlaiximati o conocimiento a través del cuerpo, así como la preservación del conocimiento de mujeres nahuas en los documentos visuales y escritos del siglo XVI.
