EPISODE 1 TITLE

Co-hosts _____ and Dr. Héctor García Chávez discuss the mass detention of immigrants and mass incarceration. Exploring questions of visibility, surveillance, the roll of the arts, grassroots activism, COVID-19 within the framework of these systems, our first episode welcomes us to reflect on the intersection of race, policing, and the Arts in contemporary Chicago.

Our three guests offer both lived experiences and academic perspectives on issues related to the racialization, exclusion, and systemic violence of marginalized communities in Chicago. These communities include: prison inmates; working-class families in gentrifying neighborhoods; and (im)migrants.
